  • The Export Processing Zone Administration (EPZA) organized a trade mission to “Taiwan Expo 2019 in Malaysia”.

    In order to consistently promote the New Southbound Policy and assist companies in penetrating the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) markets, the Export Processing Zone Administration (EPZA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) lasted the industrial matching and expanding trade markets of Vietnam and Indonesia in the past. The EPZA invited 8 companies located in Zones to participate in “Taiwan EXPO 2019 held in Malaysia” at Setia SPICE Convention Centre, Penang. The exhibition showed the plentiful industrial strength of EPZs and matched more than 50 Malaysian local companies.

    Apart from participating the exhibition, the EPZA also assisted in introducing Taipei Investors' Association in Malaysia (TI MA), HOTAYI Electronic Sdn Bhd. (Hotayi), Penang Foundry & Engineering Industries Association (PENFEIA) and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) and so on to 8 companies of EPZs, giving rise to more than 50 Malaysian local companies for matching and negotiating face to face with companies of EPZs, and endeavouring to obtain the business opportunities of Malaysian markets.

    In recent years, FECA Enterprise Co., (FECA) of Chungkang EPZ has actively participated in every mission organized by EPZA for expanding the New Southbound Markets. FECA also participated in the ”Taiwan Expo 2019 in Malaysia” exhibition, and signed a business cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Feca Malaysia SDN.BHD., a Malaysian agent, to expand sales channel of local department stores and hypermarkets. With the goal of increasing business cooperation partners of marketing channel and establishing 10 to 15 retail outlets by the end of the year, FECA expects that the fifth FECA store will be established in Kuala Lumpur in July 2019. The signing of the alliance MOU between both sides is not only an oath of cooperation willingness, but also an entity business cooperation, focusing on furthering the business opportunities in the New Southbound markets.

    According to Mr. Chao Chien-Min, the Deputy Director General, “based on the feature of EPZ companies, the trade mission invited Malaysian significant vehicle manufacturer ‘Tan Chong International Ltd.’ and famous fruit dealer ‘Top Fruits’ to discuss the cooperation with companies of EPZs by one to one business matching.” It’s expected that EPZA, MOEA could assist EPZ manufacturers in promoting their products, obtaining information of local dealers, extending the marketing channels and strengthening the cooperation and exchange of industrial representatives between both countries.
